I am not sure what's going on, but I have had a few of my clients, contacting me saying that the Dataset panel in their SQL server reporting services design view has disappear, and they cannot get it back.
Solution:
First ensure that there is a report open, in the Design View
Click on the report canvas
There are 2 methods to get back the Dataset panel:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + D
- View Menu - Report Data
