During a recent report design consultancy, in preview the images was fine, but when the report was printed the images on the page printed with a grey background.
The reason for this is that when the images were created they were saved as a 24 bit colour depth, with either a transparent or white background.
This means that when this image is used in Crystal Reports the background is not actually a pure white, and so Crystal approximates the actual colour it to the nearest available colour which invariably is grey rather than white.
Solution
To resolve this issue, the image has to be opened, within an image editor, and saved with a reduced colour depth, for example a 256 colours.
