How Do I Remove the Extra Pages on a Cross Tab Report in Crystal Reports?

The Issue:

A Cross Tab in Crystal Reports, is a summary analytical tool, that can only sit in one of 4 sections on the report, Report Header/Footer and Group Header Footer.

However when the Cross Tab container is added to the report, the underlying data in place held in the Details section of the report, and although no data is return in these sections, it is till printed when the report is compiled, which results in all those extra blank pages of the report.

The Solution:

To stop the Detail section being printed, simply suppress the Detail Section:

In the Design View

  1. Right Click on the Grey Detail margin, LHS of the screen)
  2. Select the Suppress Section option
