I have had a number of customers ask me about how they can retain the drill down functionality, when the Group Name fields and/or Summary fields are added to some text, in various versions of Crystal Reports.
Normally when a summary and/or group name field is added to a report, the designer usually uses a text object to enclose some sort of label with the fields.
In adding the summary and/or group name fields to text objects, it disables the drill down functionality of these fields.
Solution:
The only way to add text to the summary and/or group name field is to create a formula, which adds the required text to the summary and/or group name fields.
When this formula field is added to the report, it still has the drill down functionality.
