How Do I Display the HTML Formatting within a String Field in SQL Reporting Services 2008?

During a recent conversation with a client I was asked how do I display the HTML formatting of a string field in SQL Server Reporting Services 2008?

Solution:

Text Box report items within SQL Reporting Services 2008, has two formatting types:
  • Plain Text, and
  • HTML

To apply HTML formatting to a string field:
  1. Select the field, within the text box item
  2. Right click on the selected field
  3. Select the Placeholder Properties menu option
  4. In the Placeholder Properties dialog box, select the HTML - Interpret HTML tags as styles option
